Welcome 3 of 4

3. Senior Cricket

Senior cricket on Kings Hill has grown from a wandering team of founding players in 2006 to the point where we now have a large membership of regular league as well as social players. We currently field Saturday and Sunday teams in the Kent league structures. Many senior players are also actively involved in coaching and mentoring junior players, a vital part of the club’s role in the community.

2018 saw the Saturday 1st XI achieve one of our club’s initial objectives, reaching the Kent Cricket League. They were promoted from Division 5 in their first year and in 2019 topped Division 4, winning 14 out of 18 matches. As the team has moved up we’ve seen a number of players join the club, performing well and really adding to the club. After the Covid challenges of 2020, the team performed solidly in Division 3 in 2021.

Our 2nd XI entered the Kent Regional Cricket League in 2016. After four consecutive promotions, they reached the Kent Cricket League 2nd XI division for the first time in 2021. This team continues to be boosted by a number of junior players who’ve come through the club coaching structures. We’ve also seen a growing pool of senior players, allowing us to field a 3rd Saturday XI in the league from 2021.
