Senior cricket

Senior cricket on Kings Hill has grown from wandering team of founding players in 2006 and we now have a large membership of regular as well as social players. We currently field two Saturday teams and one Sunday team in the league structures and also look at other opportunities to schedule friendly fixtures during the season.

2018 saw our Saturday 1st XI debut in the Kent Cricket League, starting in Division 5 after a series of promotions over the past few seasons. This has been one of the objectives for KHCC and the team performed admirably. With injuries keeping some of the regulars out of the team, there were many players from across the club who stepped up and helped to grind out important results. We also saw a number of new players joining up and making strong impressions. The team finished third after a great second half of the season, gaining promotion for 2019.

The 2nd X1 also felt the impact of injuries and absences but the core members of the team kept the spirits and the performances up, winning their league for the second year in a row. It was a key year for the club as we saw a number of junior players who’ve come through the club structures making real strong contributions in the senior sides, which bodes well for 2019.
