The U15 Hurricanes hosted Town Malling on Sunday. Kings Hill batted first and scored an impressive 216 for 4 in their 25 overs, with strong innings from a number of players. The bowlers then keep things very tidy, restricting the visitors to 115. Kings Hill won by 101 runs.
1st XI won by 186 runs
The 1st XI put in a very strong performance against Walmer. Batting first, Kings Hill’s top order took full advantage of good batting conditions. Ross Allen scored an excellent 134 and he was well supported by Neil Scott (53) and Shaun McMurray (35). A few solid partnerships set KHCC on their way to an imposing 292/6. Keiran Marsh picked up 4 wickets for the visitors.
KHCC bowling and fielding were tight from the start, making it difficult for the batsmen to score. The wickets were shared amongst the bowlers, Rhys Morgan ending with 3/16 and Ross and Shaun with two each.
2nd XI lost by 9 wickets
The 2nd XI batted first, away to a strong Sevenoaks Vine team. The top order all got starts but no one was able to kick on. Jack Cook top scored with 26 in a total of 139. KHCC had no answers to a belligerent knock by the hosts’ young number three (although he was dropped very early in his innings). He took full advantage to smash a hundred and give his team the win.
Sunday XI won by 95 runs
On Sunday KHCC hosted Herne in another high scoring game. Graham Hutchins (111*) and Shawon Chowdhury (147*) batted most of the innings to post 291/1. Fantastic knocks on another excellent pitch – thanks Pete! There were good contributions from Herne’s top order including 51 for Lewis Russell. But the score proved too much as they ended on 196/6. Jack Cook collected 3/26.
